Big Sing draws 25 choirs
High's mixed O
take their lead
as they perform
Lift Thine Eyes.
In the mood: Two couples got into the swing
of things when Taradale High School's
Celtic Heart choir sang Sway.
Angelic voices filled the Hawke's Bay
Opera House in Hastings much like a
cathedral last Thursday, when 26 choirs
from 12 Hawke's Bay high schools took
part in the 2011 Big Sing competition.
During the day-long East Coast re-
gional competition, religious-themed
songs featured prominently among the
mixed and same-sex choirs.
The overall winner was Havelock
North High's Voix de Femmes choir.
