The organisers have billed it
as the best yet -- and if the
lineup of activities for the
10th anniversary Ride in a
Truck Day this Saturday is
anything to go by, they were
right on the mark. This year
they have sourced a huge
array of entertainment,
including bouncy castles, face
painters, displays of New Zea-
land V8 utes and the Hawke s
Bay Harley Club.
Throughout the day there
will be the popular $2 rides
around the block, as well as a
chance for the public to help
judge the best-presented
truck with drivers. Each $2
truck ride also gives the child
an entry into a competition to
win a $399 voucher from
AvantiPlus in Hastings.

Excavator Operator Compe-
tition together with the Ride
in a Truck Day, and children
will have their chance to take
part, with Doug the Digger
making a special appearance.
The Ride in a Truck Day is
this Saturday, October 15, at
the Turners and Growers site
in Whakatu. Gates will be
open from 9am and general
admission is by gold coin

The world's largest ''globe of death'' is a
feature of the Zirka Circus, which comes to
Napier this week. Motorcyclists performing
death-defying stunts in the three-storey high
globe, clowns and startling acrobatics are all
part of the show. Zirka Circus will be on Napier's
Marine Parade from October 13 to 24. For more
