Reflections on 2011
The year end is a time to relax and reflect
on the year ahead. In our business I
have been reflecting on three main
ingredients that provide the foundation for
The first is the CULTURE of the company.
We insist on fine culture, we are dedicated
to a set of values from which we will never
stray. This culture doesn't suit everyone and
we understand that.
I recently read a quote about the importance
of finding people whose values matched those
of the company. It posed the question: "how
do you get people to accept your values?".
The answer was surprisingly simple, "you
don't - what you do is hire people with the
same values and let go of those who don't".
As hard as this may seem, it is the only way
to be sure that the integrity of the system and
the quality of the office is maintained at a
standard of excellence.
The second ingredient is the CHARACTER
of our people.
It's taken me some time to realise that there
is little we can do to change a person's character.
We choose people who have the character
qualities we are looking for. Good character
is essential in our business, and I'm very proud
of the character of our team.
The third success ingredient of our system
Evidence of the powerful effect of training is
everywhere. Our ability to solve the problems
our clients and customers face depends on the
knowledge and skills of our people. We insist
that all of our people embrace the habit of
lifelong learning. And we are fortunate to have
available to us the very best training in the world.
We're expecting a challenging and exciting
year in 2012. Hopefully you've planned a well
earned break . . . time to reflect; time to think
about the year ahead. We hope to be part of
your thoughts and plans for the New Year, as
you will be part ours.
From the entire team at

we wish you a safe and
happy Christmas with
